Licht sculpture Panta Rhei is more than a mere visual spectacle; it invites viewers to contemplate the interconnectedness of all things, the fluidity of time, and the impermanence of existence. Noëlle van der Hagen paints with fabric and works with shiny, transparent organza, fabrics with bright colors and shiny threads. And she plays with lights on these fabrics. Sometimes 2D, then light sculptures in 3D. She is constantly experimenting with other possibilities of the material and new techniques to discover what is possible. Her work evokes curiosity (“hey, is this fabric?”), but is also fun and surprising. It cannot be pigeonholed. She seduces the viewer to want to touch it, to feel it. Let yourself be distracted and get lost in her art.

During her career in business as a communication trainer and coach, Noëlle van der Hagen started textile art courses. She completed this in the spring of 2019 with a Master in Textile Art. She has been working as a visual artist since the beginning of 2019. In June 2022 she received a grant from the Henk van der Geest fund / Prince Bernhard Cultuurfonds for light research, for which she entered into a collaboration with the Institute of Light Design and with the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at TU Delft. In September 2023 she will start at the New Academy in Utrecht
