THEME ‘WATER’
The Dutchman has the water in his genes and he
feels like a fish in the water between the ditches, canals,
lakes, rivers and the beautiful coast. The Netherlands
and the element of water in all its forms
are strongly interconnected; that is way you can
also call our country ‘kikkerland’ . From skating on
natural ice, that has brought us world fame, and
the trade through water, which blossomed in the
Golden Age, to our innovative hydraulic engineering
projects to make land on water on which we
can live, there is a great sense of awareness of the
value of this element that is in our body, transports
us, feeds us and inspires us. Go with the flow and be
